The objective of this project was to design a framing and roofing system that would achieve three main purposes: 1) eliminate an internal valley gutter that that was between two separate pre-engineered buildings 2) to increase the pitch of the roof with soffit and ridge ventilation for air circulation to the new attic cavity 3) to provide a more aesthetically pleasing curb appeal to the existing structure by adding a new box mansard system.

Prior to design of the system, Paramount’s design team fully assesses the existing structure to ensure the proper connection points are located to begin the development of the roof framing plan. Variable post heights are designed to raise the existing pitch as well as eliminate the existing side by side gable structure to create a new double slope roof plane with hips to the main entry elevation. New box mansard framing and panel system applied to the existing walls with ventilated soffit to provide an intake for air circulation to the new attic envelope that exits through a continuous ventilated ridge system.
